Members of the Guided Missile Church located at GRA in Ikeja Lagos are still in shock over the huge loss suffered after dare devil robbers burgled the church at night, carted away properties including musical equipment worth N14.9m and escaped after the operation.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the armed men invaded the church on 9th May, 2022, at Sobo Arobiodu Street, GRA, Ikeja, looted some properties inside the church and escaped without any trace despite the claim that the church had adequate security in place.
Some of the items carted away by the robbers included digital mixers worth about N7.5m, hi-tech amplifiers, keyboards and others worth the said amount.
When the church management went to the church in the morning, they discovered that the church was forced open. They went in and discovered that the major properties Inside the church had been carted away.
The matter was reported to the Police at Ikeja Division, who moved into action and arrested two suspects, Joseph Akanger, 32 and Adekunle Olulode, 48.They were subsequently charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court while others were said to be at large.
The Police charged them for conspiracy, burglary and stealing.
They pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they have pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Layinka, granted them bail and ordered their remand in the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
The matter was adjourned till 12th July, 2022, for mention.
