Armed robbers attacked a popular church in Lagos, carted away their musical instruments and escaped.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Full Gospel Church located at Odutola Estate in Alagbado area of Lagos..
It was gathered that the dare devil robbers struck, broke the keys to the church auditorium and searched for money in the offering box. When they did not find any, they carted away the musical instruments including a motorcycle and escaped. In the morning, when the congregation came to the church for worship, they discovered that the church was burgled and the instruments were stolen.
The shocked congregants reported the incident to the police who moved into action and later arrested one of the suspects.
The suspect, 30-year old Sola Fabiyi, was arrested and charged before the Ogba Magistrates court for conspiracy and stealing.
The police alleged that Fabiyi and others now at large burgled the church and stole some items. Some of the items stolen included, a Bajaj boxer motorcycle with registration number, LAR 537Q J belonging to one Oluwatobi Fatosinmi, mixer, musical keyboard, slave engines and others.
When he was arraigned, he pleaded not guilty. The prosecutor, Inspector V. Eruda, did not oppose Fabiyi’s bail but asked the court for a short adjournment for trial.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.I. Dan-Oni, granted him bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition. The matter was adjourned till 11th November, 2018.
