Police operatives from the Lagos State Command have began manhunt for robbers who invaded Enny-Crystal school and carted away property worth over N5m and escaped after the operation.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 20th September, 2025, at the school located at Ifako-Ijaiye area of Lagos.

Some of the properties stolen included 6 desktop Computers, 6 UPS, 6 DVR cables, 3 laptops and 2 big power generators valued the amount in question.

Two of the suspects, Moniter Abel, 35 and Maharasu Shaibu, 29 were later arrested in connection with the burglary and stealing of the items.

According to the Police,  Abel and others now at large conspired, stole the items and sold to Shaibu.

The matter was reported to the Police at the Tactical team of the Lagos State Command. The operatives moved into action, eventually arrested the suspects while others are still at large.

They were consequently charged for conspiracy,  stealing and receiving stolen goods worth the amount under the Criminal Law of the State.

The charges read:

COUNT I: “That YOU, Moniter Abel and Maharasu Shuaibu and others at large on the 20th September, 2025 at about 1900hrs at Enny-Crystal School, Ifako-Ijaiye, Lagos in the Lagos State Magisterial District, did conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to wit stealing and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.”

COUNT II:”That you, Moniter Abel and Maharasu Shaibu and others at large on the same date, time and place in the Lagos State Magisterial District did steal 6 desktop Computers, 6 UPS, 6 DVR cables, 3 laptops and 2 big generator valued at N5,093,800 (Five Million and Ninety Three Thousand, Eight hundred Naira Only) property of Enny-Crystal School Ifako and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280 (1) (a) and punishable under Section 287 of Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.”

However, they pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Supol Josephine Ihkayere, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.A. Owolabi, granted them bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
