It appears that places of worship are no longer safe following the incessant of attacks and robbery operations, which had been targeted at various churches over a period of time in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that last week, armed robbers invaded a branch of the Mountain of Fire Church located at Ayeligun, close to Ile-epo Bus Stop, at Bucknor area of Ejigbo, carted away their musical equipment and escaped.
The suspects were lucky to have escaped and were said to be at large before another incident robbery incident happened at another popular church in Lagos State.
This time, it was the Living Faith Church a.k.a Winners, where daredevil armed robbers burgled the Church, ransacked the place including their chairs and escaped.
The incident happened at the Church located at Montgomery Road, Sabo, Yaba, Lagos.
The robbers were said to have invaded the church and when they did not find money inside it, they carted other properties found in the church and escaped.
However, the decision of the robbers to steal the chairs inside the church eventually landed them into trouble as two of the suspects, Amadi Uche, 24 and Ozoemena Chinedu,25, were arrested by the Police at Sabo Division over the robbery.
After interrogation and having been found culpable, they were charged before the Yaba Magistrates Court for conspiracy and stealing.
They pleaded not guilty when they were arraigned.
The prosecutor, Supol Rita Momah, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty before Court to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Adeola Olatunbosun, granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.

Recently, robbers were arrested and charged before Court for allegedly burgling The Redeemed Evangelical Mission Church a.k.a TREM and carting away their musical instruments worth over N20m.
Though, some of the suspects were arrested and charged before Court for conspiracy and stealing but it was not certain if the Police have recovered the stolen items or not.
