Robbers Invade Boz Jewelries Limited & Cart Away N240m Jewelries

Police operatives from the Lagos State Command have arrested four suspected robbers including a woman, for allegedly invading popular Bos Jewelries Limited and carting away assorted expensive jewelries worth over N240m in the Lekki area of Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspects, Mohammed Alli, 35, Mohammed Jidda, 37, Lawal Jidda, 33 and 36-year old woman, Onome Wicklife, allegedly invaded the company’s office at No.2, Castle Rock Avenue, Jakande, Lekki area of Lagos and carted away the items worth the said amount.
Among the items allegedly stolen by the suspects were Gold Wrist Watches, Gold Rings, Gold Necklaces, Diamond Wrist Watches, Sunglasses and Gold Ornaments all valued over N200,000,000.00 property of Boz Jewelries Limited.
How the robbers managed to steal those items was not disclosed by the Police, who found them culpable and charged them before the Ogba Magistrates Court.
Part of the charges read:
COUNT I: That you Mohammed Alli ‘m’, Mohammed Jidda ‘m’, Lawal Jidda ‘m’, Onome Wicklife ‘f’ and others now at large on the 20th day of April, 2024 at Boz Jewelry of No.2, Castle Rock Avenue, Jakande, Lekki Area of Lagos in the Lagos Magisterial District did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit stealing and thereby committed an offence contrary and punishable under Section 411 of Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
COUNT II: That you Mohammed Alli ‘m’, Mohammed Jidda ‘m’, Lawal Jidda ‘m’, Onome Wicklife ‘f’ and others now at large on the same date, time and place at the aforementioned Magisterial District did steal Gold Wrist Watches, Gold Rings, Gold Necklaces and Gold Ornaments all valued Two Hundred Million Naira (N200,000,000.00) property of Boz Jewelries Limited and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 287(9)(b) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
COUNT III: That you Onome Wicklife ‘f’ and others now at large on the same date, time and place at the aforementioned Magisterial District did steal Gold Diamonds Wrist Watches, Sunglasses valued Forty Million Naira.”
However, they pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, granted them bail with sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
