It was a sad end for the armed robbers after raider operatives from the State Intelligence and Investigation Department intercepted them, carried out a routine check and discovered that the vehicle was snatched.

The arrest was confirmed by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edgal at the State Command.
The police boss said that while the suspects were about to sell the grey coloured car with registration number LND 192 CA, police operatives stopped them. CP Edgal said that when the car was searched, one CAC Identity card was found bearing the name of one Akinkunmi Olatunbi. He was contacted and he revealed that it was his car and that it was snatched from him on 25th May, 2018, along 3rd Mainland Bridge by Makoko area of Yaba, Lagos.

They were arrested, the vehicle was recovered and taken to the police station. The suspects confessed and revealed that they had snatched many vehicles in the past. CP Edgal said that the suspects had given useful information and efforts were being made to recover other stolen vehicles they had snatched and sold to buyers.

He thanked the members of the public for reposing their confidence in the police by providing useful information.
He noted that the partnership between the police and the public was getting stronger because of the successes achieved. He warned the criminal elements in the state to either change and turn new leaves or relocate elsewhere, because they will be fished out, arrested and prosecuted wherever they may be across the State.
