As we celebrate the 59th birthday of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Barr. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, CON on May 27th, we highlight his visionary initiatives in agriculture, which have transformed the lives of many farmers and rural communities.
Songhai Farm and Buguma Fish Farm were indeed established by Rotimi Amaechi during his tenure as the Executive Governor of Rivers State from 2007 to 2015.
Songhai Farm, located in Rivers State, was established as a model farm to promote sustainable agriculture and provide training and support to farmers in the state. The farm was designed to be a hub for agricultural innovation and entrepreneurship, and it has had a significant impact on the lives of many farmers and rural communities.
Buguma Fish Farm, also located in Rivers State, was established in partnership with an Israeli company to promote aquaculture and improve food security in the state. The farm has helped to boost fish production and provide a source of income for many families.
