I Rule Isheri Olofin Kingdom With Official Government Gazette, Oba Balogun Clears Air

The monarch of Isheri Olofin Kingdom, Oba Wahab Ayinde Balogun has reacted to the allegation of ruling his kingdom with forged Gazette documents by the Idimuland residents.

The monarch described the allegation as spurious, unfounded and aimed at tarnishing his esteemed image.

In his reaction sent to P.M.EXPRESS through the palace spokesman, Chief Jide Osokoya, Oba Balogun stated that the records on how he ascended to the throne were with the Lagos State Ministry of Local Government and
Chieftaincy Matters and were verifiable.

He stated that the Ministry was in best position to know which kingdom legally existed in the state and which royal father was genuine or not.

He also clarified that the claim that a reporter visited the palace to seek audience with the monarch and was said to be indisposed was not correct, as the palace publicity unit was always on ground to attend to issues on public relations.

The Palace spokesman added that Oba Balogun was always in the palace except on few occasions he when he attended state functions.

He further stated that His Royal Majesty, who they claimed was operating a fake kingdom. incidentally is the current Chairman of the Alimosho Chieftaincy Committee and a revered member of the Awori Council of Obas that cut across Lagos and Ogun States.

“We wonder how they came about the claim that Oba Balogun was addressed as “Mr” between 1969 and 1970 when his forefathers have been on the Isheri Olofin throne for over a century before he was enthroned in 1980.”

He stated that investigations have shown that a sworn enemy of Isheri Olofin and a political outcast, one Alhaji Shamusideen Adebimpe was at the vanguard of bringing down a highly respected monarch who was the Justice of Peace (JP) of the Isheri Olofin and the ancient Isheri Olofin itself.

The kingdom is in Egbe/Idimu Local Council Development Area of Lagos State.

The palace spokesman alleged that Alhaji Adebimpe and his group were the ones inciting the residents of the town to cause civil unrest in their various communities contrary to their claim that Kabiyesi and his people were terrorizing them and destroying their properties.

“The plot is to rubbish the personality of the Oba as a result of their being prevented from being taking laws into their hands by disobeying standing court order,” he stated.
