P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 1st October, 2025, at Daddy Savage, Fagba, Lagos.

According to the Police, the suspect was said to have been employed by the complainant and she started stealing the money inside the shop without the knowledge of the complainant.

However, the whole thing got exposed after the complainant conducted an internal audit, discovered that the money was missing and the matter was reported to the Police at Area G Command, Ogba.

Thus, the Police moved into action, arrested the sales lady and detained her at the Command for interrogation over the alleged missing money.

She was found culpable after thorough interrogation and subsequently charged before the Ogba Magistrate Court.

The charges read :

COUNT 1: “That you, Helen James, on the 1st day of October, 2025 at No. 5B, Olanigbe Close, Daddy Savage, Fagba, Lagos, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did conspire to commit felony to wit: stealing and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

However, she pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor, Supol Josephine Ihkayere, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.A. Owolabi, granted her bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
