One Obinna Nwosu, a Sales Manager with a Lagos-based company, Nonsman Global System Limited, has been arrested by the operatives of the Nigeria Police Zone 2 Command, Lagos and charged before a Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing his employer’s properties valued at N33,547,000.

Also arrested and arraigned alongside Nwosu for allegedly receiving the stolen Properties were Kingsley Onyetachi, 37, and Chibike Okonio, 32.

The Police alleged that the manager stole those properties immediately his boss travelled, sold them to his accomplices and went into hiding.

When the boss arrived from his trip and went to his warehouse, he discovered that a large portion of his stocks had been stolen and his Sales Manager was nowhere to be found.

He allegedly audited his stocks and discovered that properties valued at N33, 547,100 had been stolen.

Following the development, the complainant petitioned the Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Adegoke Fayoade in charge of Zone 2 Command, Lagos who gave a marching order to his men to arrest the fleeing manager and recover the stolen properties from him.

During investigation, the accused allegedly confessed to the crime and named the two other defendants as the receiver of the stolen items.

The defendants were later charged before the Tinubu Magistrate’s Court, Lagos Island on a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing.

Police Prosecuting Counsel, DSP Francis Igbinosa told the Court in the charge marked TA/26/2025 that the defendants committed the offence on 4 September, 2025 at 27, Awolowo Way, Ikeja, Lagos.

Igbinosa informed the court that the complainant entrusted his warehouse in the care of the accused but that before he could return, his properties have allegedly been carted away and sold to other defendants at a give away price.

He said the offences the defendants committed were punishable under Sections 411,287 and 328(1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendants, however pleaded not guilty to the charges and Chief Magistrate, M. Owunmi granted them N10 million bail each with two surties each in like sum.

Owunmi adjourned the case till 2 December, 2025 for mention and ordered that the defendants be remanded at the Ikoyi correctional facility till they perfected the bail conditions.
