A 26-year old man, Chinedu Obi, may not have known that he will be involved in what will keep him in prison custody for a long time in Lagos after he allegedly engaged his employer’s under aged daughters in sex.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that after Obi was employed in 2019, he started sleeping with the 11-year old twin girls one after the other till sometime in 2020 when his employer discovered and handed him over to the Police.
This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, who confirmed that the suspect was in Police custody.
He said that on 16th June, 2020, at about 1455 hours, a woman in her mid thirties (name withheld) reported at Aguda Police Station that her salesman, Chinedu Obi ‘m’ 26, had sexual intercourse with her 12-years old twin daughters (names withheld) when she left the two girls with him in her house.
“The suspect was arrested and he confessed to the commission of the crime. He stated that, he started having sexual intercourse with the girls in 2019.”
DSP Elkana stated that the Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered the transferred of the case to Gender Unit, State Headquarters, Ikeja, for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.
The CP advised parents not to trust anyone with their kids, especially female children. He further reaffirmed the commitment of the Command to continually apprehend sexual offenders wherever they may be in the State and make them face the full weight of the law.
The suspect will be charged before the Court for the alleged offence and may spend several years in prison custody because of the nature of the offence.
