Ms. Oluwatoyin Atanda, the Senior Special Assistant on Establishments and Training to the Governor of Lagos State Mr Babajide SanwoOlu has been elected as the 54th President of the Junior Chamber International (JCI), Nigeria, to pilot its affairs for the year 2025.
Atanda emerged President during the National Convention of the organisation, which was held in Abeokuta on Saturday, 12 October 2024 and well attended by members including the World President, JCI Kaveen Kumar Kumaravel.
She will take over the reins of leadership in 2025 following the expiration of the tenure of its 53rd President, Sandra Efemuaye.
Speaking on her plan for the organisation, Atanda pledged to guide JCI Nigeria into a new era of growth and impact driven by the theme “ELV8”.
She noted that the leadership under her watch is committed to inspiring transformational change for the organisation by mobilising Nigeria’s youth, fostering community development, and positioning it as a leader in social impact both locally and globally.
She expressed commitment to taking the lead in deepening JCI Nigeria’s engagement with key stakeholders, government, businesses, and civil society and uniting them to collaborate on sustainable development initiatives.
According to her, the major focus of the administration is to develop leaders who will influence Nigeria and the global community.
She promised that part of her plan in 2025 is to execute several flagship projects, including the ELV8 Mentorship & Exchange Program, which will equip members with leadership skills, provide employability training, and create socioeconomic opportunities.
“I am honored to lead JCI Nigeria at such a pivotal time. Our journey ahead is about ELV8ing our members, our organisation, and our nation. Together, we will work towards a future that embodies innovation, inclusiveness, and sustainable progress,” she said.
She further disclosed that one of her agenda is to revitalize the JCI Nigeria Training Institute to offer world-class leadership development and professional training.
“By strengthening initiatives like the Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) programme and increasing partnerships with the private sector, I intend to boost member engagement and deliver lasting impact across all JCI platforms,” she added.
Atanda, a long-standing member of JCI Nigeria since 2009, has consistently demonstrated her ability to deliver results through her detailed, values-driven approach.
Over the years, she has earned widespread admiration for her strong work ethic and unwavering dedication to empowering young leaders across Nigeria.
