The exploits of John Utaka Foundation Football team at the SATUC World Cup in Bulgaria has received a major boost as some Super Eagles players have splashed cash on the young boys for being good football ambassadors of Nigeria.
John Utaka , former Super Eagles player who set up the foundation to nurture talented young footballers was very happy with the performance of the team for getting to the final of the competition and he enriched the young players and the technical crew with N2million for their wonderful display at the tournament.
Other Super Eagles players were not left out in dispatching their financial kindness to the team with the likes of Aminu Umar, Shehu Abdullahi, Keneth Omeruo, Moses Simon sending undisclosed amount of cash in American dollars to motivate the players in their quest to win the tournament and continue to oil their skills in the round leather game.
Simon, who newly signed for Levante in the Spain top flight league said that it is good to help the young players in Nigeria and setting up a foundation like John Utaka did is something worthy of emulation, as he stressed that it is good for the foundation to be encouraged with a token of financial support from other professional footballers.
“We just want to support the John Utaka Foundation football team for the platform given to the yoing players to showcase their skills and talents and the financial support we gave these players is just a way of showing solidarity to a senior player like John Utaka. He has done well to help the young players with his foundation”, he said.
The team will file out against Liberia in the final of the tournament later on Wednesday.
