In her quest to consolidate on her established record of achievement at the National Assembly, the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District and PDP Senatorial candidate for the zone, Uche Ekwunife, PhD, yesterday, 10th January, 2023, officially flagged off her re-election campaign with a visit to Awka-Etiti in Idemili South LGA of Anambra State.

The flag-off ceremony, which began with a visit to the palace of the traditional ruler of Awka-Etiti, Igwe Micheal Ezeudenna, continued with a visit to Iru-owelle square in Awka-Etiti where the Federal Lawmaker met people from the two political wards and nine villages in Awka-Etiti.

Welcoming the Lawmaker, the President General of Awka-Etiti, Chief Izundu Adigwe Ifeanyi thanked Ekwunife for choosing the community as the starting point of her campaign and assured the Senator the support and goodwill of Awka-Etiti people.

Mr. Chibuzo Anagu, an indigene of Awka-Etiti and a Lecturer at Unizik commended Ekwunife for her legislative intervention at the National Assembly over the non-capturing of Unizik employed lecturers by the office of the Attorney General of the federation and IPPIS. He noted that after Ekwunife’s timely motion at the floor of the Senate, the process of capturing affected staff has commenced, promising to mobilize support for the re-election of the Senator.

The Director General, Ekwunife Campaign Organization, Chief A.A. Anagu told the people of Awka-Etiti that the Senator’s mission in the community is for progress and development. He further appealed to the people to support the working Senator to continue her good work.

Addressing the gathering, Ekwunife appreciated the people of Awka-Etiti for their support in the last elections. She highlighted her achievements in Awka-Etiti to include numerous projects such as construction of laboratory, free medical outreach, ongoing road project, solar street lights, self contained bungalow houses for the less privileged, distribution of school materials and employment opportunities for the youths of the community among others.

Speaking further, the Federal Lawmaker added that she is the best bet for the community due to her unbeatable track records. She stated that her major opponents have had different levels of opportunities at the National Assembly without any visible and verifiable impact on the people. While appealing to the people to support a ranking Senator due to the humongous benefits that come with ranking position at the National Assembly, she urged the people to vote PDP to consolidate on her achievements and attract more for the people.
