It appeared a season of death last week after a 35-year old man committed suicide inside the bush with Sniper insecticide and another man was found dead inside his car while two others died in hotel in various areas in the state.
P.M.EXPRESS reports as was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana. He said that on 3rd August, 2019, at about 0930hrs, information received by Ijanikin Police Station revealed that an unidentified man, about 35 years old, was found dead inside the bush beside the bridge at Adio Bus Stop area of Ijanikin, Lagos.
DSP Elkana explained that a team of homicide detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer visited the scene. At a close observation, one plastic of Sniper insecticide, suspected to have been taken by the deceased was found beside him.
He said that photographs were taken, the corpse was removed and deposited at Mainland General Hospital, Yaba, Lagos, for autopsy test. He hinted that the Police have since commenced investigation and it was in progress.
DSP Elkana revealed that while the Police were investigating the suicide case, another death occurred in Obalande area of Lagos. He said that on 28th July, 2019, at about 1730hrs, Onikan Police Station received a distress call from Obalende Road that a man locked himself up inside a gold coloured Toyota Camry car with registration number BEN 231 CB.
He said that the Police immediately went to the scene and the door was forced open. It was discovered that the man had given up the ghost.
He explained that the family of the deceased was quickly contacted via his phone. The name of the deceased was revealed by the family as Adebekun Olusegun Samuel, 61. They said that he has been sick for a while so no foul play was suspected. The corpse and the vehicle have been released to the family on request.
These had happened barely after two persons were found dead in a hotel in Ikotun and Ajao Estate area of the state, which the Police were said to be investigating.
