The Distinguished lawmaker representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, has expressed his heartfelt sympathy to the victims of the destruction to properties and infrastructure in Ado Odo Ota LGA as a result of torrential downpour and windstorms on Sunday.
Expressing his shock at the extent of damage done in Otta, Ado-Odo, other communities in the Local Government, particularly on electrical infrastructure destroyed by the windy rain along the major roads in Sango, Ota, Iyesi, Atan Ota, the Senator advised the residents to stay clear of the damaged electrical installation and naked wires.
Senator Adeola commended the quick on the spot assessment and response of the Olota of Otta, HRM Oba Prof Abdukabir Adeyemi Obalanlege, which ensured that further collateral damages are not experienced through electric shocks from fallen poles and naked wires.
He further advised residents to be circumspect about their safety particularly, during the raining season adding the advises of the weather agency should not be ignored as a result of the effects of Climate change going on worldwide.
The Senator however, appealed to the IBEDC to speedily evacuate the fallen poles and restore electricity to the multitude of Towns and Communities affected by the destruction.
