The Chairman, Senate Committee on Finance and lawmaker representing Lagos West Senatorial District, Senator Solomon Adeola, has called on all Christians in particular and Nigerians in general to use the occasion of the Christmas celebration to renew their faith in Jesus Christ and abide by all precautionary measures against the rampaging COVID-19 global pandemic.

In a Christmas message to felicitates with his constituents and Nigeria Christendom on the occasion of 2020 Christmas, Senator Adeola said Christmas symbolizes the celebration of the birth of a new dawn for the salvation of souls for all humanity especially for the Christian believers.

While acknowledging that the occasion indeed should be joyous with merry making, the Senator call for caution in such display of positive emotion in view of the prescribed precautionary measures to prevent and combat a second wave of COVID-19 pandemic adding that in consonance with safety measures he has cancelled his annual end of year/yuletide party that attracts thousands of constituents and well-wishers for this year.

“The year 2020 is a challenging year globally. In compliance with prescribed COVID-19 precautionary protocols, I have cancelled the end of the year party I organize for meeting with my constituents. However, as is equally my tradition I have made provision in cash and kind for a joyous celebration in homes of constituents amid COVID-19 pandemic” he stated.

Senator Adeola stated that Nigerians in general are going through a difficult period compounded by the unforeseen COVID-19 pandemic with many losing their sources of incomes adding however that there is every likelihood that 2021 will be better than this year as Nigeria looks forward to procuring the COVID-19 vaccine and exiting from a recession period currently ongoing.

“I urge all Nigerians to be patient and look forward to a better future. With abiding faith in Jesus Christ, all our challenges will be a thing of the past as we move to a new and hopefully a glorious new year” he stated.
