The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, Senator Solomon Adeola (APC, Ogun West), is set to receive two democracy awards tomorrow in FCT, Abuja, courtesy of Democracy Heroes Africa Award following his emergence from an online poll conducted over a month across Nigeria.
The Senator has two months earlier received the certificates of confirmation of his winning as the “ICONIC LEGISLATOR OF THE DECADE” and “MOST PROLIFIC SENATOR OF THE YEAR” in his office while the conferment of the award is slated for Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja.
This year’s award ceremony is the 10th in the series with former award winners in various categories including the Deputy Senate President, Senator Jubrin Barau, Senator Abubakar Sani Bello, former Governor of Niger State and Senator Sani Uba, the governor of Kaduna State.
Speaking during the presentation of the certificates of confirmation, Mr. Alexandra Ajagbonna, the President of the Democracy Heroes Award Projects said the award is targeted at rewarding performance on different democratic indices as voted online by the generality of the people who are the ultimate beneficiaries of democracy.
At the presentation Senator Adeola has promised to personally receive the award as it was transparently done with no possibility of anyone influencing its out come over the period of voting for different categories.
