As Anambra State marks 30 years since it was created, the Anambra All Progressives Congress gubernatorial candidate for the forthcoming gubernatorial elections, Senator Andy Uba, has extended his congratulations to the government and good people of the state, saying that at 30, the state had lived up to its billing since its creation.
He however, stated that the dreams of the state’s founding fathers for a just, egalitarian and self sufficient society were yet to be achieved.
In a statement put out by his media office, Senator Uba stated: “It is with joy and happiness that i celebrate with the government and good people of Anambra as the state marks 30 years of its creation as a political entity within Nigeria”.
“Since its creation, our dear Anambra has attempted to live up to its billing first as a “Home for All” as well as the “Light of the Nation” achieving a number of feats and firsts.”
“I pay homage to the founding fathers of the state and all those who contributed to its creation. I also salute all those who have been saddled with the leadership responsibilities of the state, distinguishing themselves in service to the state.”
“While I agree that we as a state have lived up to our billing, let me however, state that it is not uhuru yet as the dreams of those who founded Anambra for the creation of a just, egalitarian and self sufficient society have yet to be materialized.”
“Therefore, there is still much work that is to be done in order to position the state as the true Light of the Nigerian Nation.”
