Senator Ekwunife Facilitates Construction Of Amikwo Road, Awka

Senator Uche Ekwunife (Iyom) has commenced yet another road construction project in Anambra Central Senatorial District.

On Monday, December 14, 2020 the Anambra Central Zonal Project Monitoring committee led by the former commissioner for women affairs Anambra State, Lady Henrietta Agbata visited the construction site at Amikwo Road in Awka, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Arriving the popular road which entrance is located at a densely populated area popularly called Ogbugbankwa, the project team were received by some community leaders, PDP party leaders in the community and some residents of Amikwo Awka.

Reacting to the development, Comrade Nduchris Nwannah, the Chairman of Igweogige Village Assembly, Amikwo Awka described the road project as a thing of Joy. He noted that the road has been dilapidated for so long and its construction will not only bring succour to residents of the area but help to decongest the popularly Ziks Avenue. He appreciated Senator Ekwunife for remembering the people of the area and urged other public office holders to emulate her style of leadership which is focused on addressing the yearnings of the people at the grassroots.

On his part, a University Don and an Indigiene of Amikwo Awka, Asso. Prof. Emmanuel Chinwuko noted that when he noticed that work has commenced on the road and saw a signpost indicating that Senator Uche Ekwunife (Iyom) is behind it, he knew that the construction work was genuine owing to Senator Ekwunife’s antecedents in public service. He thanked the Senator all the good works she has been doing in the Senatorial District and urged her to remain committed to her quest to attract dividends of democracy to her constituents.

Chief Steven Nworah, a cabinet Chief of Igweogige Village Amikwo and the PDP Chairman Awka Ward 6, Dr Ikechukwu Nwanna in their separate remarks hailed Senator Ekwunife for being a representative that is truly for the people. They noted that her good works echoes round the Senatorial District and beyond and prayed for God’s blessings and sustenance upon her as she strives to attract more dividends of democracy to the people.

In her remark, the leader of the Project team, Lady Henrietta Agbata conveyed the Senator’s message of gratitude to the people of the community and thanked them for their unflinching support for her in the last election. She assured them of Senator Ekwunife’s commitment to attract more developmental projects to Awka community, and urged them to always put her in their prayers.

Also in the project team were the Former Accountant General of Anambra State, Mrs Helen Nwaeri, Former General Manager Anambra State Physical Planning Board, Chief Victor Okpoko, the Project Manager Anambra Central Liaison Office, Mrs Ifeyinwa Chinwuko, Awka South Coordinator SUECO, Onyi Nwokeke and Others.

Also notably present were Awka Ward 6 PRO, Goodsuccess Nwanna, Awka Ward 6 PDP Stakeholder, Chukwunonso Nweke, Awka Ward 6 Coordinator SUECO, Chief Justin Okafor JP (Ochudo Okwuoto).
