Umunne m Ndi Anambra Central,

I bring you great tidings on this joyous occasion of Christmas. Christmas is the most joyful season of the year. It is a special occasion when Christians around the world share in the love, blessings and epiphany of the birth of our saviour, Jesus Christ. Christmas celebration reminds us of God’s great love and sacrifice to mankind and the need for us to replicate the same love and sacrifice to one another.

As we celebrate this great feast of christendom, I am obliged to remind us of the importance of marking the yuletide with a life filled with compassion, empathy and charity. We should remember that Christ is love and the reason for the season.

As your Senator, I have had the privilege to celebrate this special occasion with you, and each year I am moved to reflect on our journey as a Senatorial District as well as reassess my contributions to the well being of our people.

The position of the Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is one that comes with great expectations and enormous responsibilities. A position that must be occupied by someone with a great sense of duty and proactive approach towards the development and overall well-being of the people. But beyond the enthusiasm, the occupant of the office must have the ability, courage, character, experience, capacity and competence to successfully project and defend the interest of constituents on the floor of the Senate as well as attract visible development to the zone.

The past three and half years have afforded me the rare opportunity of contributing greatly to the development of our Senatorial District and Anambra state at large.

From day one, I set out with a clear vision and purpose: which is to be a strong voice in the National Assembly as well as use the instrumentality of legislation to better the lives of constituents.

The primary purpose of the legislature is to make laws for peace, order and good governance. As legislators, we are empowered by law to discharge three basic functions: lawmaking, oversight and representation. These tripartite functions are designed to ensure that while we serve the nation, we are also in a position to attract developmental projects and programmes that will make tangible impacts on the lives of our constituents.

In April 2022, I convened our 3rd annual stakeholders briefing/town hall meeting in line with my commitment to offer accountable and effective representation. Delivering my address at that auspicious event, I listed some of our achievements and these achievements [which are regularly updated] are captured in our latest edition of Newscope Newsletter.

Having served you meritoriously for the last three and half years, leading to my emergence as the Senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the February 2023 general elections, I urge you to stand with me as I seek re-election.

Let your decision on who will represent our Senatorial District be guided by the antecedents and track records of the individuals who seek your votes as no one can give what he or she does not have.

The Anambra Central Senatorial contest is not about who will take pride in serving as your representative, but about who has the capacity and competence to speak on National issues, attract projects and initiatives that will improve the lives of our people. I want to assure you that I will continue to strive to offer a representation that will improve your lives and that of our children.

My dear constituents, it has been a great privilege to serve you in these past years. One that I’m immensely grateful for. While I thank you for your continuous support and encouragement, I remain grateful to God Almighty who has given us the grace to accomplish what we have achieved thus far.

I therefore wish to pledge my continued commitment in offering a purposeful and impactful representation, while reiterating my desire to continue to fulfill my promises to you. I have no doubt that with your support we shall consolidate on our achievements and build the Senatorial District of our dreams.

On behalf of my family, I wish you Merry Christmas and Prosperous New year. May your Christmas celebration be graced with peace, joy and blessings. Amen.
