The project, which was flagged-off on the 13th of November, 2020 by the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, His Lordship, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, was yesterday, to the glory of God, commissioned by the Bishop, who was represented by the Diocesan Chancellor, Rev. Fr Francis Chidume.

The 3-bedroom bungalow was among the numerous projects embarked on by the federal lawmaker whom many have come to describe as Madam Project for her numerous projects in the senatorial district and beyond, some of which include, roads, erosion control projects, market stalls, school building blocks, solar boreholes, street lights etc.

Speaking at the event, which also had in attendance the former Deputy Governor of Anambra State, HE Chief Abolle Okoyeagu, Ekwunife who is through her delivery of democratic dividends rewriting the essence of representation, described the project as symbolic considering the ordeal of the physically challenged beneficiary. She commended Bishop Ezeokafor whom she noted provided the piece of land, for constantly playing a fatherly role in the diocese. She described the Bishop as a true man of God who uses his position to not only propagate the gospel but defend the poor and vulnerable.

Ekwunife, while also appreciating Rev. Fr Francis Chidume, who she noted provided adequate supervision which ensured completion of the project in time and according to specification, reiterated her commitment to offer good governance to the people. She reiterated that her governorship ambition was borne out of her desire to lead a government that drives economic growth and majors on ameliorating the challenges of the people.

On his part, Bishop Ezeokafor, who was represented by the Chancellor of the Diocese, Rev. Fr. Chidume, stated that the Senator has through the act of benevolence conformed to the word of God in the book of Matthew which states that whatsoever that was done for the less privileged or those in need was done for God himself. He said that the edifice will no doubt give the disabled woman a resting place here on earth as we all await the kingdom of God.

Appreciating God Almighty for using Ekwunife to wipe her tears, Mrs. Muoneke who was in the company of her husband sang joyously as she dropped tears of joy. She prayed God to bless the Senator and grant her success in all her endeavours.

While stating that the completed building project has given her life a new meaning, Mrs. Muoneke equally appreciated the Bishop and the catholic diocese for their support to her and her family.
