The Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District , Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, has commenced the second phase of re-energizing security in Anambra South senatorial zone.
The pilot scheme for the second phase of the project is starting in Nnewi, from where it will be extended to other places, just like in the first phase.
Around April last year, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, after an attack on his convoy that left some of his aides dead, weighed into the security challenge that was then critical. With a blend of technology and men, Ubah was able to make a modest input in security of lives and properties.
At that time, it was scary and dangerous, with nearly everyone living in fear, especially across Anambra South senatorial zone. Since Senator Ubah’s intervention, the security situation in Nnewi and Anambra South has improved, even as his efforts compliment that of the State Government and security agencies in the state.
One year after, according to Senator Ubah, there is a need to upgrade the existing infrastructure in the security architecture that he initiated and has funded since. The lawmaker stated that it is important to plan ahead and prepare for the future and not wait for a new challenge before one begins to plan again.
“What we have has served and still serving. But we must plan ahead and not wait for those who want to rob us of our hard-earned security to find any gap in our existing structure,” Senator Ifeanyi Ubah said.
This second phase of security infrastructure would involve higher level technology, with HD vision cam, equipped with GPS, and linked to WT 4G, for effective capturing and monitoring of all areas covered.
