In fervent determination to afford the APC her cognate experience, winning streak as well as give the people of Anambra North Senatorial District a viable alternative to what we now have, Senator Margery Chuba Okadigbo, yesterday toured Oyi, Onitsha North and South LGA’s respectively in order to inform the delegates of her intention to serve the zone again.

Arriving late at the Oyi APC Secretariat, the widow of the late Senate President and Igbo leader, Chuba Okadigbo was greeted with rousing cheers by party members who defied the rains and darkness to greet the  senator with chants of ” no rival” ” You are our own” ” This is pay back time for all the good works”, etc, taking the leaders time and a considerable effort  to bring the cheering crowd to calm down and listen to her speak.

Speaking, an elated Okadigbo apologised to the  crowd for the delay as well as  thanked them for waiting, saying that she was touched by such gesture. She immediately reminded the delegates that by virtue of her marriage to the late Oyi of Oyi, she too was Oyi in flesh and blood, and  thus no one could be more Oyi than her.

Reeling further her achievements in her first stint as senator, Okadigbo stated that despite the fact that she was in court for two years, she was still able to achieve the number of projects credited to her ranging from building secondary school blocks, assisting unemployed youths to get Federal as well as state employment and human capital empowerment programs, that touched hundreds of thousands of families.

She promised  that she was ready to do more should she be elected highlighting that her experience on the job would make things much easier unlike those who would be going there for the first time.

In what looked like an affirmation of her candidature , stakeholders from Oyi who also graced the function, expressed profuse support for Senator Okadigbo, basing such on her track record.

Many dignitaries that graced the occasion also declared their support for because of her track record within her short stint in the Senate.

Moving on to Onitsha North, the crowd this time was ecstatic, again keeping vigil for their own daughter in who they are well pleased.

In her speech, Senator Okadigbo urged the delegates to ensure that they connected to the centre by voting a candidate who would be able to withstand the onslaught of other parties.

She promised that if voted in, the election to the senate was a done deal and that the ills done to the people of Onitsha North would be rectified.

At her last stop in Onitsha South, Senator Okadigbo told the teeming crowd that though she wasn’t that wealthy, she had two things going for her which were her passion for development and her level of experience. She reminded the party members that in her first stint if she had been interested in making money, the numerous projects she attracted to Onitsha South as well as her empowerment programs would have gotten to the people then. On experience, she said that it would be a near waste of time should the party send someone who would be learning the ropes while others who were more experienced were busy cornering for themselves massive constituency projects and jobs meant for them.

Responding, Hon. Bright Osemaka thanked Senator Okadigbo for taking the pains to come and see them, he said that the people of Onitsha South would speak with one voice and stand with the experience and her performance in the past.
