Robbers have invaded a Police barracks in Lagos and carted a away Toyota Highlander SUV belonging to a senior female Police officer and escaped.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Otto Police Barracks located at Oyinbo area of Lagos, where they stole the SUV, which was said to belong to SP Binta Onoja.
It was gathered that the robbers went to the barracks in the evening and stole the SUV with registration number LND 695EX worth about N4m.
When the owner of the vehicle later realized that her vehicle was missing inside the barracks, she reported to the Commissioner of Intelligence Unit, who moved into action.
The investigation paid off as one of the suspects, a 25-year old Ibrahim Sulaimon, was arrested and detained for interrogation over the stolen vehicle.
After interrogation, the Police found Sulaimon culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for conspiracy and stealing.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Benson Emerhi, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. J.A. Adegun, granted him bail and ordered him remanded in the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
The matter was adjourned pending when the Court will properly started sitting over Covid-19 regulations at the Court.
