The Divisional Crime Officer attached to Alagbado Division, Supol Lawal Lukman, is currently engrossed in adultery mess after a 47-year old man, Johnson Akande, went to the police station and warned him to leave his wife alone.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Mr. Johnson was angry after he suspected that Supol Lukmam was sleeping with his wife, Omobola, and that was why the wife was misbehaving in the house and had no regard for him any longer.
An embittered Johnson was said to have investigated to find out the sudden change by his wife and traced it to Lukman. He then summoned courage, went to the police station and raised alarm while pointedly asking Supol Lukman to leave his wife for him.
However, his action landed him in serious trouble as the police officer in question ordered his arrest and asked him to provide evidence to show that he was dating his wife and he had none except that the wife used to boast with Lukman’s name in their home over little quarrels.
Consequently, Johnson was charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for conduct likely to cause breach of public peace by spreading false rumour that Supol Lukman was dating his wife.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector R. Raji, did not oppose his being granted bail.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Jadesola Adeyemi-Ajayi, granted Johnson bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 25th March, 2019.
