The Nigeria Police operatives in Gwarinpa Division have arrested a personal guard to a serving senator (name withheld) for allegedly stealing five luxury wrist watches, 15 pairs of designers’ shoes, a vehicle plate number and other items from the house he was employed to guard.
A police source said the suspect, identified as Kolo, also stole a Plasma television, gold necklaces, scanner, land documents and clothes while the senator was away from his residence in the highbrow area of Abuja.
The source said the case was reported on Wednesday and that during investigation, the guard confessed to have stolen all the items.
The Gwarinpa Divisional Police Officer, CSP Nuruddeen Sabo, said the suspect was co-operating with the police on recovering the items from where he kept them.
“He’s with the keys to the rooms and knows everywhere in the house,” he said.
The top cop said a Rolex wrist watch was among the watches allegedly stolen by the suspect.
