The Salako family has announced the peaceful transition of their revered patriarch, Engineer Babatunde Adesola Salako, who passed on at the age of 91, leaving behind a legacy defined by discipline, faith, and service.
The late nonagenarian was a distinguished professional whose life journey took him through Baptist Academy, Lagos, and later to Northern Polytechnic in London, where he honed his technical expertise.
His career reached its pinnacle at the Nigerian Railway Corporation, where he retired as Director of Signals and Telecommunications after years of meritorious service.
Paying tribute to his father, the Chief Operating Officer of Silverbird Group, Bola Salako, described the deceased as a deeply spiritual man who placed God at the centre of his life and decisions.
“Daddy lived a disciplined life. He never made a move without seeking divine guidance. He had absolute trust in God and believed strongly in the power of prayer. He loved people genuinely and treated everyone with respect. He will be greatly missed,” he said.
In honour of his remarkable life, the family has concluded arrangements for a befitting burial. An evening of worship is scheduled for April 16, 2026, at Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos, while the funeral service will hold at the same venue on April 17, 2026. Interment will follow immediately at Ikoyi Cemetery, with a reception to be held thereafter.
Engineer Salako is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family members, all of whom continue to celebrate a life well lived and a legacy that will endure for generations.
