CYRIACUS IZUEKWE
A 32-year old single mother, Chidinma Joseph, has been arrested for allegedly slicing her co-worker’s mouth with razor blade for calling her a prostitute in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports the incident happened at the company located at Olajide Street, Idimu Road, Ejigbo area of Lagos, where Chidinma works with the victim, Ibe MacAnthony.
However, the Police at Area D Command Mushin, Lagos, replaced the victim, Mac Anthony, with another staff, Agbogho Ajakoro, who is the head of the department.
What led to the replacement was not disclosed by the Police who alleged the Chidinma used a razor blade to slice Agbogho and injured his mouth.
She was said to have gone to where men changed their clothes after work and had altercation with Ibe Mac Anthony, who was changing his clothes after work. She alleged that the victim called her ‘Ashawo’ for coming where men change clothes. She then went for a razor blade, sliced the victim and he could not speak. He was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
The matter was reported to the Police and she was arrested. After interrogation, she was subsequently charged before Isolo Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
She pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Mr Oje Uagbale, asked the Court to give a date for hearing has enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.O. Akokhia, granted her bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the matter for mention to 10th August, 2021.
However, the defendant was remanded in Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
