The families of Mr Muda Balogun, 40, who was allegedly murdered by three men in September 2022 has cried for justice on Monday in Lagos at Tinubu Court premises.

The wife, children and other members of the families were seen crying profusely having cited the alleged murderers of their bread winner and father of four children.

The families were also seen laying allegations that the police in charge of the case wants to cover up the matter.

The alleged murderers and the deceased were co-workers of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria but was shot dead during an argument.

However, the Magistrate of the court, Mrs K.K. Awoyinka further remanded the accused for another 20 days in prison

She adjourned the case till March 3 and awaiting the advice from Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) office.

The News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) reports that the hearing of the matter first came up at Igbosere Magistrates’ Court 18, sitting in Tinubu Court 1 in December 12, 2022,

The three accused were charged on a five-count offence bordering conspiracy, unlawful display of arms in public, willful damage, grievous harm and murder.

The accused are Mr Kazeem Jinadu, 50; Maaru Amisu, 36 and Oluwatobi Ajao, 48, all are residence of Oko-Afo community in Ojo Local Government of Lagos.

They were also remanded on the hearing date and the matter adjourned till February 2.

However, on February 2 when the case was mentioned, the police officers from Zone 2 had brought an application and asked that the case should be struck out of court.

The Magistrate presiding on the matter rejected the plea and told them that she did not have power to strike out a matter already in DPP’s office.

Earlier, the watching brief counsel, Mr Mubashir Babatunde-Oshodi, had urged the Magistrate to disregard the letter and the application to withdraw charges as its aim at perverting justice.

Oshodi argued that it was an obstruction to the Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos State.

Section 411 of Lagos State Criminal Code Law depicts life imprisonment if the murder was committed with arms and found guilty by the court of law.
