The residents of Awori Street, Agboroko area of Iba, Lagos, are now apprehensive over what befell four under aged boys, who were allegedly engaged in anal sex by a 23-year old man, Praise Ogbonna.
P.M.EXPRESS reports the apprehension was as a result of the strange sexual behaviours by Ogbonna, which they suspected that he might be doing for ritual purposes.
The dastardly act was exposed after Ogbonna penetrated four victims aged, 10, 13, 14 and 15 and was caught in the act before being handed over to the Police in the area. The Police operatives later transferred him with another 15-year old boy said to be engaged in the act in the area.
During interrogation, Ogbonna was said to have admitted that he did so to derive sexual satisfaction and not for ritual purposes as suspected by the residents. He was said to have lured the victims to his apartment where he used some cream on their anus before forcefully penetrating them one after the other.
Having been found culpable by the Police, Ogbonna has been charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for statutory rape which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is found guilty for the alleged offence.
The Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Supol Ezekiel Ayorinde, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice. The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, ordered his remand in prison custody and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for advice. The defendant, Ogbonna, will remain in prison custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court for trial or not.
