The police at Ikotun Division were taken by surprise after unknown soldiers invaded the station, attacked and attempted to abduct a suspect, one Marcus Olumide who was detained at the police station over N40,000 that a businessman owed him in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS scooped that the businessman simply known as Faka held back Olumide’s money after he had worked for him. During that period Faka was said to have bought a brown customized SUV worth over N15m.

However, few days later robbers struck at Faka’s home and stole the SUV and it has not been found. Since the incident happened their neighbours in Abarenje in Ikotun area where they resided had been going to Faka’s house  to sympathise with him.

But Olumide who had earlier lamented that Faka had such money to buy the SUV yet was unable to pay him the little money he had worked for, was said not to have any sympathy for him over the loss. It was gathered that Olumide went to his house and demanded for his money despite the fact that he knew that he lost his cherished vehicle.

Faka became angry and invited the police at Ikotun Division, claiming that Olumide was the suspect who stole his SUV. Police sources said that when the officers heard what happened and were unable to establish any criminal matter against Olumide, the police advised the parties to make peace.

However, Faka was not satisfied with the advice of the police; he went and arranged with some soldiers to abduct Olumide to an unknown place.

Their plan failed after the soldiers noticed the presence of some journalists who were making calls to seniors police officers and they hurriedly left the police station.

At the police station, it was gathered that the DPO was not around when the soldiers stormed the place but seemed to have done nothing to discourage such conducts at the station.

When our correspondent contacted the victim, he confirmed the incident and said he was at an undisclosed hospital receiving treatment. He denied knowing anything about the missing SUV and said that Faka only wanted to intimidate him after he had worked for him and he refused to pay him.

When P.M.EXPRESS tried to contact Faka, he could not be reached. However, it was confirmed from the residents that the vehicle was actually stolen.
