Soludo: I’m Not Surprised!

MAZI EJIMOFOR OPARA

For some of us who elected of our own volition to become “Soludo’s Apostles” even before he declared to run for office in 2021, we had implicit confidence that a man with an outstanding record of public service globally and nationally couldn’t bring anything short of excellence to a sub-national assignment. So, like the Apostles of Christ, we left everything and everyone in spite of the many allures to propagate the good news that “Solution is Coming”. Today, Solution is Here and no one in the country can deny it, not even the critics or opposition!

Engr. David Nweze Umahi, the first ever Minister of Works of Southeast and Igbo extraction, has journeyed from a distant land to affirm in clear terms that Governor Soludo is an unmistakable definition of a “true progressive”. Note, the respected Minister was on a National assignment to Anambra and was not under any compulsion to impress an “opposition Governor”. So, he began with a caveat, “I know some members of my party may not like this, but the truth must be said”. As an Engineer who understands the complexities of a detailed and well executed infrastructure, he admitted, “I am humbled! If after all I did in Ebonyi State as a Governor I still find such impeccable infrastructural development I am seeing all over Anambra today that never existed a few years ago when I visited, then anyone should be humbled”.

Ali Pate his Health Ministry counterpart was in Anambra a few days ago to commission the first ever General Hospital In Okpoko, and did not mince words in saying that there is a whole lot the rest of the country must come to learn from Anambra. Both Umahi and Pate have validated the implicit confidence Mr. President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, has in Governor Soludo. Tinubu describes Soludo as a “friend, a thinker and a good man”. Long before his Ministers began to have their own personal encounter and testimonies, Mr. President had stated in public that “Soludo will be among those who will bring prosperity to the people”, and elected to work with him to make this happen. This was said during his campaign speech at Alex Ekwueme square, Awka in 2023.

If anyone is surprised about Governor Soludo’s exploits, they were either not following his records or were born yesterday!
