Soludo Shows Obi What Leadership Should Be

The point about Peter’s use of the Government House being an entitlement or privilege he must enjoy as a former Governor is as bland as the trite thrust of the “obidient drama”. The point is outrightly baseless.

If it is about privilege, Rochas should go to Imo and enjoy such privileges under Uzodinma, Amaechi should go to Rivers and demand same privileges from Wike. Not even Peter conferred same privileges on Ngige whom he almost hounded out of relevance in the State.

The singular fact that Soludo had to move a scheduled meeting today with Road Transport workers fixed for same venue to another venue is an indication of his style of politics rooted in tolerance and fair play. Under Peter, there exist video evidence from the then Labour Party Chairman that Peter Obi denied them access to use public space for their campaigns. Today, same Peter is in Labour Party and enjoying privileges he couldn’t grant to the party under his watch. Indeed, APGA under Soludo is different!

It appears very easy when it is done. For a Peter, who has in the last 8years invested so much to destroy APGA, a party that graciously granted him the platform for all that has become of him politically, many political actors have expressed awe and, if you like, dismay over what they term unusual magnanimity” to a ferocious political predator. Soludo’s style of politicking is obviously different and deserving of emulation by every politician including Peter Obi whose moniker around Anambra political circle is “Mr. Vendetta”.

I really do not understand what else some persons mean when they say “Soludo should face governance”. Anyone who denies Soludo’s novel achievements in just 9 months in office has simply chosen to be deliberately ignorant. It is a fact that SOLUDO’S achievement in 9 months is unparalleled.

– Over 250km of road at different stages of construction

– 5000 newly recruited Teachers for public Primary and Secondary Schools in the State

– 300 health workers, including Doctors and Nurses at various levels of Public healthcare.

– Conversion of diesel powered streetlights to Solar

– Commencement of work at the permanent site of the new Government House and Governor’s lodge

– Cutting cost of governance by plugging leakages in public finance, with facility management fee brought down from 137million Naira a month to now 11 million Naira.

– Energized traffic management system with the ongoing repositioning of ARTMA.

– PG elections taking place as and when due, ending the era of perennial Towns union squabbles in the State.

– Fighting insecurity in the State with the rejigging of the State Vigilante service and rapid restoration of public confidence in state security forces.

Just to mention but a few.

I hope Peter learns something from this episode, there is sure no better way to “go and verify” from Soludo what leadership should be.
