Soundcity OnTour Lights Up YABATECH With Music, Talent Discovery And Youth Empowerment

The Yaba College of Technology, YABATECH, Lagos, came alive with music, creativity and excitement as the Soundcity OnTour campus activation berthed at the institution, providing a platform for students to express themselves and showcase their talents.

The event, which was held at the college premises, attracted thousands of students who gathered to witness a blend of music entertainment, talent discovery and youth engagement.

According to the organisers, the initiative is aimed at giving young Nigerians platforms where they can express themselves, discover their capabilities and connect with opportunities beyond the immediate moment.

The highlight of the YABATECH edition was the emergence of three talented students – Opeyemi, Favour and Chidera – who reportedly distinguished themselves during the talent showcase segment of the tour.

For the trio, the platform provided an opportunity to turn their talents into a moment of achievement and recognition before a large campus audience.

As the lights went down at YABATECH and the final beats faded into the night, the Soundcity OnTour reportedly left behind more than music and memories, as it created a platform for talent to be seen, creativity to be celebrated, and young people to take centre stage.

For Opeyemi, Favour and Chidera, it was an opportunity to turn talent into a moment of achievement, while for the thousands of students who witnessed the experience, YABATECH once again demonstrated the energy and creativity that emerge when young people are given the space to express themselves.

Observers at the event said the atmosphere was electric, with students cheering their colleagues and participating in various interactive sessions put together by the organisers and sponsors.

The Soundcity OnTour is a campus tour initiative powered by Soundcity in partnership with Bigi and Fearless drinks, aimed at engaging Nigerian youths across tertiary institutions through music, talent hunts, games and other creative challenges.

The organisers noted that the tour is designed not just for entertainment, but to discover and empower young talents in music, dance, comedy and other creative fields, while also connecting them with broader opportunities in the entertainment industry.

Following the successful outing at YABATECH, attention has now shifted to the next destination of the tour, with students across various campuses anticipating the arrival of the Soundcity train in their schools.

And now, the question being asked by many students is: which campus is next?

The Soundcity OnTour journey continues, bringing more music, more talent, more challenges and more opportunities to young Nigerians, according to the organisers.
