Strike Team Endorses Ambode For 2nd Term, Urges Lagosians To Vote For Continuity

A Lagos-based political group, Strike Team, has endorsed Mr Akinwunmi Ambode to vie for the second term in office as the Executive Governor of Lagos State.

The group made this endorsement during a meeting held at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos on Sunday.

Reading from a prepared speech, the Director General of Strike Team, Hon. Fatal Babatunde Bank-Anthony  said that Governor Ambode,  from all indication,  has done good jobs in the ongoing first term which made the group overwhelmingly called on him to continue in office.

Bank-Anthony, who is also the Director General of Lagos State Sports Commission, said Strike Team, which has members spread across all local governments and Local Council Development Areas to the ward levels in the state, was one of several political groups that worked during the pre 2015 general election, adding that his group did tremendous jobs, the result was the victory recorded by Ambode and his enthronment as the Governor.

“We were so happy that as another election is coming up, our dear Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, has given us lesser work to do with his first class performance in office. He built on what he met on ground and go ahead to improve on it. We can all see the dividends everywhere. He touched all facets of life.

“I want to say that by the time we are going out to campaign for him, we only need to show Lagosians the numerous works he has done, and tell the people to expect more from him in the second term. We, members of Strike Team, are so proud of His Excellency, Governor Ambode.

“Governor Ambode is the Treasure that we possess. Errors can arise either by commission and omission. By 2019, if we omit to use the Treasure that we have in Governor Ambode, and such, fail to vote him in for his second term, it will not add up to wisdom. We must not fail to put our Treasure (Ambode) into the right use for our greater development.

“We therefore resolve and earnestly implore Mr Akinwunmi Ambode to formally declare his intention to contest the Governorship of Lagos State for a second term in 2019. We also like to assure him of our unalloyed support and readiness to work assiduously for him to become the candidate of our great party, All Progressives Congress, APC and proceed to win the gubernatorial election in 2019.

“We hereby endorse Mr Akinwunmi Ambode for second term as the Governor of our great Lagos State, ” Bank-Anthony said to thunderous applause of representatives of the Strike Team from all local governments and LCDAs.
