Student Slumps, Dies At Paul’s University In Awka

Tragedy struck at Paul’s University, Awka, the capital of Anambra State as a student reportedly slumped and died within the school premises.

The incident happened midday on Monday as the students of Paul’s University were having their Student Union programmes. The unfortunate incident threw the students into endless tears and confusion.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered from an eye witness, that the young student identified as Valentine Uchebo, was a final year student of the Accountancy Department at Paul’s University and was due for graduation next month July, 2018.

According to the eye witness who does not want her name mentioned, she said that they were all together within the school premises when the incident occurred and Valentine was rushed to the school clinic where he was confirmed dead.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the ugly incident was a heavy blow to family, as the young and handsome Valentine Uchebo happened to be his parents only surviving male child.

The Students Union Government led by Master Prince was contacted on the said incident. Prince confirmed the demise of Valentine and went on to narrate the sudden and ugly incident in tears.

“Valentine Uchebo was one of us; he contributed immensely towards the successful leadership of this present Student Union Government of Paul’s University. We can’t question God rather we pray that it pleases God to forgive his sins and avenge his sudden demise” Prince said.

Prince used the opportunity to inform the general public who had been invited for the School’s Students Union Government Week celebration expected to hold on 20th June, 2018, that the event had been suspended indefinitely. He prayed for the repose of the soul of Valentine Uchebo and condoled with his family for the great loss. He assured that the Students and Staff of Paul’s University, Awka, will be actively involved in the burial activities.
