Barely a month after doling out N5,000 cash each to about 100 residents of Ward ‘A’ in Obalende, Lagos in appreciation of them voting for him an Arewa Son to represent them as a Councilor at the Ikoyi-Obalende Local Council Development Area, Hon. Sulaiman Jubril  Keana has again empowered another set of 50 elderly people and widows in the area with cash.

Keana, the Majority Leader of the Legislative arm of the Ikoyi-Obalende LCDA, organised a medical screening exercise for some of the old people and widows in his Ward to know their state of health and later gave each of them N5,000 to enable them feed well.

The event held recently at the Suya Junction in Obalende attracted several Obalende residents who trooped out in their large numbers.

Speaking at the empowerment ceremony, Keana stated that the programme he has embarked upon was made possible by the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who he said in his usual detriabilised leadership quality supported him, an Arewa Son to be elected as a Councilor at the Local Council Area.

“I am now appealing to all the residents of Ward A in Ikoyi-Obalende to join me in prayer to Almighty God to continue to bless Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu with good health to enable him continued to serve humanity,” Keana stated at the event.

He added, “Though I was born and raised in Obalende by my parents who hails from Alago tribe in Keana Local Government Area of Nasarawa State in the North Central region of the country, I never believe that I could be considered qualify to be made a Councilor in Lagos State. But the Asiwaju, Jagaban of Bornu Kingdom and other party leaders in Ikoyi-Obalende made it possible by looking beyond where I originated from.

Keana said aside the supports from the APC leaders, the members of his Ward has shown tremendous support to his candidacy and thus has to show appreciation in every area that he could.

“I decided to provide for the old people, widows and other residents because as they all trooped out without tribal sentiments on the election day to vote for me, I have decided to dedicate myself to continue to provide for them” Keana added.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to our correspondent at the occasion said they were surprised that Keana of Arewa extractions is now the one feeding them in Lagos. They praised Tinubu for his exemplary leadership foresight and opportunity he extended to young leaders from various tribes to deliver selfless service to every Lagosians.

The Ward A included Obalende Road, Ajeniya, Odo, Eleshin; Moshalashi, Toyan, Obalende Police Barracks and Ojo Streets.

Among the important personalities including various community leaders in Obalende/Ikoyi LCDA in attendance were Mr. Ebun Ekemode; Mr Gbenga Jacobs; Alhaji Baba Wale Badmus; Alhaji Kola Giwa; Alhaja Awa  Imam; a beneficiary Mrs. Iyabo Oshofisan and the APC Youth Leader, Mr. Muri Saka who stood in for an accident victim and beneficiary, Jamiu Ashimolowo.
