I Supply Robbers Indian Hemp For Effective Operations – Suspect

A 30-year old Indian hemp dealer at Cappa, Oshodi area of Lagos, Sulaimon Agboola, denied that he was an armed robber but admitted that he only supplys robbers Indian hemp to enhance their effectiveness during their operations.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Agboola was arrested by the Police operatives from Olosan Division in Mushin led by SP Ayodele Arogbo, for aiding criminals and using his Cappa enclave as joint for criminals while selling Indian hemp.
The suspect admitted that he deals on the substance but was meant for criminals who want to go for robbery operations. Police invaded the enclave following reports that robbers were snatching phones, bags and other personal belongings of innocent people in the area.
Hence, Police operatives mounted surveillance and discovered that the robbers usually went to Agboola’s smoking joint before they moved for operations. The operatives then moved in, arrested Agboola, recovered a big bad containing some substances suspected to be Indian hemp with some wraps of the substance.
During investigation, Agboola confessed to the Police at he joined the business due to lack of job before he discovered that robbers needed to smoke Indian hemp before they go for any operation. He said that he started preparing the Indian hemp in attractive wraps, which made the criminals patronise him before they move for operation.
The Police found him culpable and later charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for aiding criminals and causing violence by providing substance suspected to be Indian hemp to criminals elements.
He pleaded guilty.

The prosecutor, Mr. A. Koti, asked the Court to sentence Agboola accordingly since he had pleaded guilty to serve as deterrent to others who might try such offence in future.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.I. Tanimola, found him guilty as charged and sentenced him to six months imprisonment with N20,000 fine to be paid into the government account.
Agboola was taken to the prison custody where he is serving his jail sentence. Peace and calm were said to have returned to Cappa area of Lagos since Agboola was arrested.
