Various All Progressives Congress, APC support groups in the three Senatorial districts in Cross River State have called on Prince Bassey Otu to declare for the governorship of the state in 2023.
The groups praised Governor Ben Ayade for his industrialisation drive, youth empowerment and political leadership and said they stand upon the mandate they gave him until 2023 when Prince Otu will succeed him and continue with his legacies.
They emphasised the need to zone the governorship seat to the south which has waited for 16 years.
A youth leader, Bernard Okori, said Ayade needs a successor who has the capacity to continue with the industrialisation of the state and the person is Prince Otu.
They said Prince Otu has been tested as a Senator and would be tested as governor.
According to the groups, “Despite the challenges facing Cross River State, we the different support groups of Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, having noticed the prolonged period of silence and quietude, hereby step forward to call on Sweet Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu to make an assertive declaration to aspire and contest for the position of governor in the forthcoming election in 2023.”
