Former Chief Coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Chief Adegboye Onigbinde will clock 80 years on Monday, 5 March this year, unknowingly to him, a birthday cake has been prepared for him three days before the D-day.
It was at the unveiling and launching of the Western Nigeria Football Forum, inside the Cocoa House on Friday, Chief Adegboye Onigbinde got a surprise birthday gift.
While introducing guests present at the occasion, NFF’s Director of Communications Ademola Olajire had announced that Chief Onigbinde, a former FIFA Technical Adviser, CAF Technical Committee Member and two –time Head Coach of the Senior National Team of Nigeria, would mark his 80th birthday on Monday, 5th March 2018.
Somehow, the Management of DAWN Commission produced a fitting birthday cake, which the delighted technical sage cut as NFF President Amaju Pinnick, NFF 1st VP Akinwunmi, Otunba Dele-Ajayi and the honourable commissioners, FA chairmen and other stakeholders watched and sang for him.
“I am pleasantly surprised by this. I thank everyone who made this happen and I pray that Nigerian Football will continue to grow from strength to strength,” said Onigbinde.
