The National President Southern Youth Foundation, Most Snr Comrade Emeni Ibe, has called on the planners and organizers of the June 12th planned protest to suspend the protests in the interest of Peace and National Security.
Comrade Emeni Ibe, who made the appeal yesterday in Port Harcourt while reacting to the planned protest in a meeting with DSS, representative of the State Director, used the opportunity to also appeal to the National Association of Onions Dealers and Suppliers not to shutdown the supplies as threatened by members of the Union.
Consequently, the National President, Southern Youth Foundation, extended his appeal to the Youths and people of Southern Nigeria to continue to live in peace and harmony with their Northern neighbours and people.
Snr. Comrade Ibe appreciated the Ijaw Youth Council, IYC and other Niger Delta Youth groups for calling off the protests in Niger Delta and ensuring the resumption of operations of the NDDC, which he said was a welcome development.
He said he hopes the Federal Government will live up to the expectations of the people of Niger Delta Region in the constitution of a new NDDC Board while demanding that the ongoing employment opportunity should be all inclusive.
