The Southern Youth Foundation of Nigeria, SYF, has passed a vote of confidence on Mr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, the NNPCL Boss.
The respected group made the disclosure on Thursday 21st August, 2025, in a statement signed by the National President, Amb. Comrade Emeni Ibe (JP AP).
SYF said that the passing of the vote of confidence was hinged on Ojulari’s outstanding performance and his uncanny ability to implement reforms, which helped the resuscitation of the NNPCL subsidiaries including the revamping of refineries.
According to the group, the call by the Niger Delta Ethnic Nationalities Youth leaders as reported in the media space for Ojulari’s resignation over fictitious and unsubstantiated claims, was done in bad faith.
The SYF said, “For the records, the NNPCL boss, Mr. Bayo Ojulari, was legitimately and meritoriously appointed by the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR. As a matter of fact, the appointment came after a long domination of the position by personalities from the North”.
“We see the accusations against him as mere falsehoods sponsored by detractors. The so called youth leaders did not speak when the position was dominated by Northerners. Asking for his removal and suggesting where a replacement should come from, clearly gave the impression that they were sponsored by certain interests.”
“The Southern Youth Foundation of Nigeria hereby express our solid support and posit that Ojulari, a Southern helmsman of the NNPCL, should serve out his tenure even as he has continued to display capacity for outstanding performance on the job.”
“The SYF has therefore, passed a vote of confidence on Mr. Bayo Ojulari and equally use this medium to call on the relevant authorities to totally disregard the call by the Niger Delta Ethnic Nationalities Youth Leaders as sponsored voices.”
