Ndi Anambra Online Media Community, I sincerely wish to advise that we use social media as a vehicle for conversations that would bring about unity, progress and development in our darling state. No online media practitioner in his right senses would support call for anarchy as being championed by enemies of the state.

Political leaders in the state should as a matter of urgency advise their media handlers to desist from running fake news, hate campaigns, and calls for breakdown of law and order. Traditional rulers and indeed the religious should bravely intervene and strongly condemn the destructive tendencies of some questionable and non professional online media actors. A progressive people can only find strength in unity. If we cannot unite against this dangerous trend, oh, we will be digging our graves.

Let’s get it right! How can we attract developments to our communities when little rascals are scaring away potential investors? How can we reap dividends of our fledging democracy when current events if not arrested will see both local and foreign investors running away from Anambra?

When we shy away from preaching love, unity and patriotism definitely, nature will abandon us to dance the “surugede’ music. Remember, we owe it as a primary duty to lead our people to greater heights not to destruction.
Must we fold our hands and watch while our young lads on social media plunge the entire state into anarchy with their incessant peddling of fake news, capricious propaganda? Must we ignore a burning candle until it reduces the house to ashes? Again, I sincerely wish to call prominent members of Anambra Online media community to organise and distance selves from these enemies of the state. People who have sworn to drag our hard earned socioeconomic status to gutters, simply because they are not in the position to pilfer on our common till.

Umunnem, let’s use social media to portray our darling state Anambra in good light, and create the enabling environment for a rapid development and growth of the state. Desperate Politicians should desist from inducing our youths with stipends and deploying them to use social media to destroy the good image of our state, and its people and government. Our youths should not be subjected to whims and caprices of the enemies of the state who are hell bent on creating fake news, promoting anarchy and insecurity.

Ekenem!
