When the management of Living Spring Montessori School at Adagu odo Street, Ire-Akari Estate area of Lagos, employed a 31-year old Ede Tochukwu, they did not know that they actually employed an in house thief in the school.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that from the time the suspect, Tochukwu, commenced teaching, school properties started missing mysteriously to the extent that he equally joined the management in looking for the thief.

However, on 26th December, 2019, Tochukwu sneaked into the school, carted away plasma television and laptop belonging to the school. While he attempted escaping from the school premises, the security guard apprehended him and recovered the items. He was subsequently handed over to the Police at Ire-Akari Estate Division for interrogation.

While undergoing interrogation, he admitted and told the Police that he had wanted to sell the items in order to play a lottery game before he was caught.
Having been found culpable, Tochukwu was charged before the Isolo Magistrates Court for stealing and he pleaded guilty while begging to be pardoned.
The prosecutor, Mr. Oje Uagbale, presented the facts of the matter and asked the Court to sentence Tochukwu accordingly to serve as deterrent to other people who might want to try such in future.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. A. Telumi, found him guilty as charged and sentenced him to 12 months imprisonment without an option of fine.
Tochukwu studied Mass Communication at Nasarawa State Polytechnic. When he graduated, he worked in Abuja before relocating to Lagos and got employed as a teacher at Living Spring Montessori Schoolbefore he stole and now serving his prison sentence at Kirikiri, Lagos.
