CEO and Founder of TeamSam, Sam Adedoyin, popularly referred to as AyRubber, has come under the spotlight after using his compelling presentation to dazzle founders, attendees and entrepreneurs who attended the recently held Africa Startup Festival in Lagos

The Africa Startup Festival, recognized by Business Insider as Africa’s top deal-making and networking event, brings together investors, founders, builders, and operators in one powerful gathering.

it allows all to explore how emerging technologies and bold innovations are transforming industries across the continent. As the definitive season ending gathering of 2025, this year’s edition set the stage for the partnerships and deals that will define the coming year 2026.

One of the notable highlights and takeaways from the Africa Startup Festival was the presentation of San Adedoyin, who served as a distinguished Mentor to some of the founders and startups at the Africa Startup Festival in Lagos.

And it appears that his social media post has gotten fans talking, as they hailed his delivery and useful tips dished out for free to innovators, founders and startups looking to do big in their given professional fields.

Reflecting on his time at the Africa Startup Festival in an Instagram post on his legacy verified account, Sam Adedoyin, a former top official at TikTok, dropped some of the key points he shared to the crowd of attendees.

According to the TeamSam founder, the first rule for startups and founders is to “hire for values, not just skills
Skills can be taught values can’t.
Bring in people who believe in your mission, take ownership, and add to your culture, not copy it. These early hires shape your entire company”

Continuing, Sam Adedoyin urged founders to, “Build leaders, not followers
If the founder tries to lead everything, the company won’t grow. Give people autonomy, trust them with outcomes, and teach leadership early so the team can make decisions without you”.

The TeamSam head huncho further appealed to startup to, “Create HR people actually love. HR isn’t paperwork. It’s the environment people work in.
Give your team clear goals, real growth opportunities, recognition for good work, and systems that protect their well-being”.

The fourth golden rule that founders must abide by according to Sam Adedoyin is,
“Protect your culture. Culture is how your team behaves on the hardest days.
Be transparent, remind people of the mission, encourage collaboration, and hold everyone accountable with empathy”.

The TeamSam CEO noted that founders should, “Lead with vision, not control
Your job isn’t to micromanage it’s to create clarity. Show the team where you’re going and why it matters, then let them figure out the “how.”

The sixth rule recommended by AyRubber is for founders to adopt, “The simple formula of hiring people aligned with your mission. Train them to lead. Reward behaviors that reflect your values. Support their growth. Communicate clearly. Lead with a vision that inspires”.

Sam Adedoyin’s social media post has drawn reactions from followers, who commended his mentorship abilities.

One Instagram user, Ayodeji Adedoyin, with username ay_adedoyin, wrote “Mentorship” under AyRubber’s post even as he liked the slide of pictures consisting of ten lovely images of the former TikTok official.
