A 19-year old girl, Fatimo Abidemi Fatoki, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing $5,000.00 dollars, which her boss, Madam Okolie Precious, kept in her bedroom including N100,000 cash.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened between October 2025 and January 2026, at Lola Akindosu Street, off Seliat Estate, Egbeda, Lagos.
According to the Police, the suspect had access to where the complainant kept the money and she stole it before her boss discovered that the money was missing.
The matter was reported to the Police at Idimu Division. The operatives moved into action, eventually arrested the suspect and detained at the station for interrogation over the missing money.
After thorough interrogation,  the Police found her culpable and charged her before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charge read:
“That you, FATIMO ABIDEMI FATOKI ‘F’ between October 2025 and January 2026, at No. 4 Lola Akindosu Street, off Seliat Estate, Egbeda, Lagos in the Lagos Magisterial District, did dishonestly steal $5,000.00 dollars (Five Thousand Dollars) and ₩100,000.00 (One Hundred Thousand Naira Only) property of one Okolie Precious ‘F’ and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280 (a) and punishable under Section 287 of the criminal laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
However,  she pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Inspector Simeon Njue, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, F.R Ogunkoyede, granted her bail in the sum of N2m with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
