Teenager Burgles Churches & Carts Away Over N4m Musical Equipment With Other Items

A teenager, Tolani Ajiroba, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly breaking into two churches and carting away musical equipment and other items worth over N4m.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Apostolic Church of God and Voice of God International Church.
According to the Police, the teenage suspect went into the churches at night when there was nobody around, stole the items and escaped.
However, in the morning when the members of the two churches realized what happened, they went to Isheri Oshun Division and reported what happened.
The Police moved into action, eventually arrested the suspect and detained him at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and then charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
“That you, Tolani Ajiroba ‘M’ on 27th January, 2025, at Adedoyin Street off Agalo Street, in Ijegun area of Lagos, in the Lagos state magisterial district, did conduct yourself in manner likely to cause breach of peace by unlawfully entering into the premises of the Apostolic Church of God carting away their musical and electrical appliances, and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 168(d) law of Lagos state Niger 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, Tolani Ajiroba at the same date, place and time at the aforementioned magisterial district did burgle into the Apostolic Church of God and at the same time entered the Voice of God International Charch and stole their properties and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 307 (c) law of Lagos State, Nigeria 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, Tolani Ajiroba, at the same date, place and time at the aforementioned magisterial district, did enter into the Apostolic Church of God and stole submersible pumping machine, electrical wires, seven industrial standing fans, band jazz senders to microphone, speakers, engine, speaker wire all valued N3,000,000.00 and also entered into the Voice of God International Church and stole raw rice, HP laptop valued N400,000.00, generator parts valued N35,00.00, battery valued N85,000.00 Total valued N520,000,00, and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 287 law of Lagos State Nigeria.
He pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Supol Benedict Aigbokhan, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.K. I Dosumu-Uthman, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
