An 18-year old, John Samuel, has landed in trouble and risks life imprisonment after he allegedly engaged a 14-year old girl in sex and they were caught in Lagos State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports the incident happened at Alhaji Kajola Street, Ayobo area of Lagos, where they reside.

According to Police sources, the suspect defiled the victim by luring her into an apartment and engaging her in sex romp on 9th November, 2021.

Trouble started for Samuel when the parents of the girl got the information and confirmed from their daughter that Samuel had penetrated her; they became angry and reported him to the Police at Ayobo Division for defiling the victim.

The suspect was arrested and later transferred to the Gender Section of the Command for interrogation. There he admitted to have had sex with her as his girl friend.

After interrogation, the Police found him culpable because the girl in question is still a minor and Samuel was subsequently charged before the Ogba Magistrates for defilement, which attracts life imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before Court of Law.

The Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. A.Ajibade, ordered his remand and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to DPP for advice.

The matter was adjourned till 29th December, 2021, for the report of the DPP to be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
