An 18-year old, Temitope Olamoru, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly inflicting injury on her rival, Mide Olawale, with a razor blade over an undisclosed man as they engaged in a public brawl.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 12th March, 2025, at about 11pm at Faiusi Street, Ajegunle Alakuko Lagos.
According to the Police, the suspect had a disagreement with the victim over a man, which led to exchange of words and in the process, the suspect brought out a razor blade and inflicted injury on her body including her face. She was said to have bled profusely and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment while the suspect escaped.
The matter was reported to the Police at Alakuko Division. The suspect was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over her alleged conduct.
After interrogation, the Police found her culpable and consequently charged her before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
COUNT I: “That you, Temitope Olamoru, on the 12th day of March, at about 10:50pm at No. 24 Faiusi Street Ajegunle Alakuko Lagos in Ikeja Magisterial District, did unlawfully attempt to commit murder against Mide Olawale ‘F’ and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 230(b) of the Criminal laws of Lagos State 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, Temitope Olamoru, on the 12th day of March, 2025 at about 10:50pm at No. 24 Faiusi Street Ajegunle Alakuko Lagos in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did unlawfully inflict injury on the face, neck and hand of one Iremide Olawale ‘F’ by cutting her with a razor blade, which caused her grievous harm and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 245 of the Criminal laws of Lagos State 2015.”
However, she pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Josephine Josephine Ihkayere, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence that brought her before the Court.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.A. Owolabi, granted her bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
